PM Kakar to visit Gwadar on 4th

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, who is returning from his nine-day foreign trip on Monday (Dec 4), will land in Gwadar before reaching the federal capital.

Prime Minster who left for Abu Dhabi on 26th of November visited Kuwait before going to Dubai where he is attending Cop28 activities.

He will inaugurate a few projects including provision of clean drinking water on Monday for the people of the coastal city. The projects were conceived and initiated by Nawaz Sharif government in 2017 but shelved by the PTI government. The projects were restarted by the coalition government of Shahbaz Sharif and now the caretaker government has got all these projects completed.

The sources told The News here Friday that Prime Minister Kakar will visit the CPEC hub for the first occasion since assuming the office on August 14. He would be briefed about a few projects of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) by the authorities concerned during his stopover.

Meanwhile, the sources said that Prime Minister Kakar would miss the regular summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) which had to be held in Banjul city of African state Gambia as it has been postponed till mid next year.

The prime minister will undertake his next foreign trip to Swiss tourist resort Devos where World Economic Forum (WEF) would be held from January 15 to 19. Prime Minister will dilate upon forum’s focus on exploring the opportunities enabled by the new technologies and their implications on decision-making and global partnership.

Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar, Planning Minister Sami Saeed and some other senior officials would accompany the prime minister during visit to Devos, the sources said.
