Girl’s killing in Kohistan region: Original pictures seized, police obtain remand of accused
MANSEHRA: Police on Wednesday seized original photos which were later doctored, inserted into the video and uploaded on social media which led to the killing of a girl in Kolai-Palas district of the Kohistan region recently.
District Police Officer Mukhtar Khan Tanoli confirmed that the seizure of photos, which were portraits but later cropped and connected as groups and inserted into a video. “The multipronged investigation underway in the girl murder is making our efforts successful, and time is not far off when all those behind this murder and uploading video on social media might be behind bars,” he assured.
According to him, those behind this entire video plot had created a Facebook account, cropped two girls’ and boys’ pictures and put them together on social media after making it a video.He said a Facebook account with the name of Aiman Dar was created by those behind the conspiracy and used to achieve the evil designs.
The DPO said police took Dar into protective custody and seized his and one of two girl’s sole photos which were cropped to make them pair with a romantic style.
He said it was a conspiracy against the local culture and tradition to create law and order with a vested interest. Also in the day, the police got the six-day physical remand of three alleged abettors to the crime from the Kolai-Palas magistrate.
“We had sought seven-day custody of Abdul Qayyum, Muhammad Naseer and Dill Nawaz but the magistrate handed them over to the police for six days,” Tanoli said.
He said the police were still carrying out raids in the far-off Sharyal village and expected some more arrests shortly.Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) ‘s Cyber Crime Wing completed its task and submitted the report to the senior police officials.
“We have given away our findings to police high-ups which might prove helpful to the investigation into this case,” Mohammad Asif, the deputy director of FIA’s Cyber Crime elaborated.
