Gangsters manage to get aide free from police custody
Islamabad: A gang of armed dacoits managed to release an arrested gangster from the police custody after holding the armed police team in broad daylight Wednesday, the police sources said.
The Nelore police have lodged a first information report (FIR) under sections 324, 224, 353, 186, 148, 149 and 225 Pakistan Penal Code and the top cop has ordered to initiate investigation against the criminal negligence of the police.
An accused, Mehmood Sultan, resident of Patan Kajnah was arrested on 24 May, under armed dacoity and was under the police custody on physical remand, said in the FIR adding that the accused asked the police that he can help for the recovery of a car stolen from the jurisdiction of Nelore police station.
A team was constituted for the recovery of the stolen car left for the tip off with properly chained suspect. On their way to the pointed out place, the chained accused asked the police to stop the police vehicle but as the vehicle was stopped, the suspected loudly called his aides and 5/6 armed people started firing at the police party resulted in injuries of two cops, however, the gangsters managed to escape from the scene with chained accused. The top cop has ordered inquiry against the police party to ascertain the facts. Different teams have been constituted to hunt down the escaped gangster as their first priority.
