Tribal elder, his 2 sons laid to rest
WANA: A tribal elder and presidential award winner, Malik Aslam Noor Wazir, was laid to rest along with his two young sons at his native Leva Kanda area in Lower South Waziristan district on Thursday.
South Waziristan Lower Deputy Commissioner Nasir Khan, District Police Officer Farman Ullah, Brigadier/Commander Wana Brigade Muhammad Owais Shamim, tribal elders and a large number of other people attended the funeral prayer.
Malik Aslam Noor Wazir, was killed along with his two sons — Sher Aslam and Aslam — in an improvised explosive device blast at a shop the previous day.
The third slain person was the shopkeeper identified as Sahib Noor.It may be recalled that the elder brother of Malik Aslam Noor, Malik Khadin, who opposed the militants, was also killed in a blast along with his son in 2007.Malik Aslam Noor had faced several IED blasts in the past which had left him injured.
