IGP orders inquiry into software house robbery
The Sindh police chief Riffat Mukhtar Raja has instructed the deputy inspector general of the Counter-Terrorism Department to conduct an inquiry into the allegations of CTD personnel robbing a software house.
IG Sindh took notice of the reports that some unknown armed men, posing as CTD officials, forcibly entered the office of an information technology company in the Ayesha Manzil area and abducted its six workers.
The suspects allegedly took Rs1 million, ATM cards, five laptops and details of online transactions before releasing the abductees. They also allegedly transferred Rs400,000 to the bank account of an NGO.
In the directive, Raja emphasized the need for a prompt and transparent investigation, seeking a comprehensive inquiry report from the DIG CTD over the incident. The affected company owner had appealed the IG Sindh to notice of the robbery.
