Shameful defeat
Babar Azam is an outstanding batter Pakistan has produced after a long time. There are no doubts over his batting skills. However, his leadership skills can be questioned. The latest defeat against Afghanistan is an embarrassment for a ‘cricketing’ nation like Pakistan which ranked first in the ICC rankings just a few weeks back. It is indeed a matter of pride to lead the national team, but when one feels that he has failed to perform well in the assigned role, he needs to relinquish the post and concentrate on his skills.
Virat Kohli stepped down as Indian captain after his team suffered continuous losses; his batting skills also declined a little. He took it from there and now his batting speaks for itself. He is a significant member of his team and plays under another captain. Babar should learn from this.
