Newborn found dead from trash

LAHORE: A newborn baby was recovered dead from a garbage dump in the Civil Lines area on Sunday.

Some passersby spotted the body of an unidentified child wrapped in a cloth on the garbage heap near Waris Road Civil Lines and informed the police. The police shifted the body to morgue and started looking for the person(s) through CCTV cameras.

arrested: The Dolphin Squad arrested a man impersonating SSP in the limits of Haier police. The police stopped a suspicious vehicle with blue light and the driver identified himself as SSP Sindh Police Javed Iqbal Bhatti. On verification, the Sindh police departmental card of the accused was found to be fake and he was identified as Momin Shaikh of Defence Phase-1.
