Protest against Ferozwala police for not arresting ‘fraudsters’
GUJRANWALA: Residents of Gagarke village on Wednesday protested against Ferozwala police for not arresting the accused involved in a fraud and torture case.
The protesters, including women and children, gathered in front of the CPO Office and chanted slogans against the police. They alleged that accused Samiullah and Matiullah had received thousands of rupees from their relative Asif for sending him abroad, but the accused neither send him abroad nor returned the money. They further alleged that the accused along with their accomplices opened firing in front of their house when they demanded their money back.
The accused also tortured the family members, including women, after trespassing on their house, they added. The protesters said that they got a case registered in Ferozwala police station but the police were reluctant to arrest the accused. Later, the police high-ups assured the protesters that action would be taken against the accused. At this, the protesters ended their protest.
