ISLAMABAD: One of the high-ups of the Interior Ministry slapped and scolded a senior officer of the ministry during a meeting.
In the meeting, the high-up asked which officer had posted the list of banned outfits on the website of the Interior Ministry, and a senior officer said that he had done it. At this, the high-up queried why he had done so.
The officer replied that the ministry had formally released notifications about these outfits; therefore, they were part of the public record. As a result, the high-up got enraged, rose on his seat, and allegedly slapped the senior officer and scolded him.
The high-up was of the view whether the senior officer was to tell him what public record was.Sources said that the participants of the meeting mediated among the two.Sources added that in the meeting, the high-up, with regard to the posting of list of banned outfits on the ministry’s website, had ordered another high-level official to conduct inquiry against that senior officer.To know his stance on the issue, the high-up was contacted but he kept from giving his opinion.The PRO of the ministry was also contacted but he showed ignorance about this matter.
