Rameez slams double ton to give K-Electric huge total
KARACHI: Rameez Raja slammed a double century to enable K-Electric to pile up a huge total on the first day of their Pool A three-day third round outing of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II against Candyland here at National Stadium on Friday.
Raja smashed 203 off 218 balls with 21 fours and four sixes.
Behram Khan narrowly missed a double century, as he cracked 184 off 172 balls with 18 fours and a six. The duo scored 395 for the opening stand, helping K-Electric reach 524-9 in the stipulated 83 overs of their first innings. Shafqatullah belted 63 off 41 balls, striking four fours and three sixes. Idrees Mirza took 5-16 with his leg-spin.
Candyland were 24-1 in reply at stumps. K-Electric have won their previous two outings.
At Rana Naved Cricket Academy Ground in Sheikhupura, Brighto Paints posted 253-7 in their first innings against Services Industries. Waqas Saleem struck 78 off 87 deliveries with eight fours.
Afaq Zafar got 3-48, while spinners Bilal Iqbal and Ihtisham-u-Haq clinched two wickets each.
At Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot, ZTBL reached 33-2 in their first innings against CDA as only 15.3 overs were bowled due to rain.
At LCCA Ground in Lahore, KPT were bowled out for 128 in their first innings against Khayaban-e-Amin.
Faraz Patel made some impression with 45 which had eight fours.
Right-arm pacer Babar Khan got 9-57 in 16.5 overs.
Khayaban-e-Amin, in response, were 56-4. Adeel Malik got 3-23.
At Khayaban-e-Amin Ground, Lahore, Income Tax perished for 142 in their first innings against HEC.
Rizwan Hussain scored 62 which came off 75 balls and had eight fours and a six.
Yousuf Ali remained not out on 34. Sunny Azam took 5-54. Ali Tipu and Haider Ali got two wickets each. HEC were two for no loss in reply at stumps.
At Railways Stadium, Lahore, Dollar East reached 204-5 in their first innings against Railways with Usman Saeed scoring unbeaten 72. Shahid Nawaz captured 3-45.
Here at SBP Ground, Test discard Sami Aslam (139) and Asif Ali made 100 to enable SBP to stage 380-7 in their first innings against Navy.
Sami cracked eight fours and three sixes, while Asif smacked 11 fours and two sixes in his fine knock.
Nasir Awais, Imran Ali and Raza-ul-Hasan got two wickets each.
Navy, in response, were 30 without a loss.
Nihal Mansoor (105) and Raheel Majeed (101) struck centuries to enable PTV to post 378-7 in their first innings against Customs here at UBL Ground. Saif Ali Ghora got 5-45.
Customs were 13 without a loss in response.
The first day’s play of the matches in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Country Club in Muridke was washed out due to rain.
In Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade-II, Multan defeated Bahawalpur by 168 runs at Dring Stadium in Bahawalpur.
Chasing 351, Bahawalpur perished for 183 in their second innings. Imranullah Aslam made 43.
International left-arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar captured three wickets, ending the game with nine wickets.
