PU union office-bearers

Punjab University Teachers Front (PUTF), pro-VC group, swept elections of PU Academic Staff Association on Thursday. 

PUTF candidate for president Prof Dr Sajid Rasheed Ahmad got 432 votes while his opponent from Teachers Alliance Javed Sami got 233 votes. 

On Secretary slot, PUTF Dr Mahboob Hussain bagged maximum votes in the elections and secured 449 votes while Dr Usman Awan got 220 votes. On the seats of vice president science, PUTF Dr Muhammad Azhar Naeem got 346 votes while Dr Asmatullah got 315 votes. On vice president Arts, PUTF Dr Abid Hussain Ch got 339 votes while Sardar Asghar Iqbal took 242 votes.

On Joint Secretary slot, PUTF Engr Dr Muhammad Shafique secured 414 votes Dr Shahbaz Ahmed Cheema got 240 votes.

On Treasurer slot, PUTF Ch Naeem Ullah Khan clinched the seat by securing 423 votes while Tariq Mahmood Butt got 236 votes.

On member’s executive new campus, PUTF Dr Ishfaq Ahmed got 410 votes, Dr Muhammad Ayub Fridi 405, Dr Nadeem Sheikh 416, Dr Naumana Amjad 413, Dr Sania Zahra Malik 408, Sonia Omer 394 and on executive member old campus seat, Dr Omar Nawaz secured 402 and Misbah Sultana secured 415 votes.

Meanwhile, in a press statement PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran congratulated the newly-elected body of Academic Staff Association. In his message, Dr Mujahid Kamran said the newly-elected ASA office-bearers would play their role in promotion of research and politics of principle in the university.
