Minor killed in Lyari grenade attack
Karachi
A minor girl was killed while four others were injured in a grenade attack at a medical store located at Meera Naka, situated near Lee Market in Lyari, on Thursday.
According to SHO Chakiwara police station, six-year-old Khateeja was standing near the medical store when two unidentified men riding a motorcycle lobbed the grenade.
The girl and the injured were taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment, however, she died during treatment.
Nine people including seven children were injured in a grenade attack near a clinic in Chakiwara on January 17, 2016.
The police believed that the attack could be a ‘reaction’ to the recent killing of some known figures of the Lyari gang warfare.
While the grenade landed near a private clinic, Lyari SP Aftab Nizamani believed the real target of the assailants could be a mobile van of the Chakiwara police station parked near the clinic.
