ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reiterated that the government firmly believes in strengthening the armed forces for wiping out the menace of terrorism and thwarting challenges and threats against the country.
He was talking to Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman here at the PM House on Thursday. Sources in the Prime Minister House told The News that matters pertaining to Pakistan Air Force (PAF) were discussed during the meeting.
The CAS apprised the prime minister for professional preparedness of the PAF and other related issues. Appreciating the role of PAF, Nawaz Sharif said the contributions of the PAF in the on-going military offensive Zarb-e-Azb are commendable.
The premier said he crucial role of Air Force demonstrated in the country’s biggest military offensive against terrorism was decisive in defeating the terrorists. He said this was possible due to the highest professional standard maintained by the PAF.
The prime minister said the present government firmly believes in strengthening the armed forces in view to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the homeland and be prepared to confront threats and challenges. Nawaz also referred to the display of PAF’s JF-17 Thunder multi-role and Super Mashak planes maneuvering capabilities and skills in Doha last month. Qatar Royal and Air Force leadership was impressed about it and appreciated the display. Nawaz was also present on the occasion.
