Musharraf falls ill again, hospitalisation advised
KARACHI: Former president Pervez Musharraf has fallen ill again at his residence on Wednesday.
His family called doctors who arrived and conducted a check-up of the ex-president. They advised that Musharraf needed hospitalisation. Reports said that the former president would be moved to the PNS Shifa Hospital amid tight security.
Musharraf suffered health deterioration for a couple of times in the last 10 days. On February 11, he had fainted at home and was moved to hospital and stayed there for around five hours. Doctors had advised him complete rest. Five days later he again fell ill. But he had his medical check-up done at home.
He has been braving health issues for some time. In 2014 he was taken to hospital following a heart-related problem the day he was scheduled to appear in the court. Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday has fallen sick again and the doctors have advised him to take complete rest.
A three-member team of Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Shifa Karachi doctors arrived at his home and examined him. The team shifted Pervez Musharraf to the PNS complex for further medication. Doctors said that the former president was having severe pain in his back and foot.
Earlier, local court in Islamabad had issued non-bailable warrants for Pervez Musharraf in Lal Masjid operation case by rejecting his plea seeking exemption from appearing before court.
