Prince William steps in King Charles' balcony slip up
King Charles nearly misses key Trooping the Colour tradition, but Prince William intervenes
In a surprising moment King Charles was about to miss key Trooping the Colour tradition, but his eldest son Prince William, next in the line of British throne, quickly stepped in.
The monarch and the Prince of Wales has captured the attention of royal watchers following this year's celebration in London.
Held to march the King's official birthday, the annual military parade concluded with the traditional Buckingham Palace balcony appearance, where senior members of the royal family gathered to watch a spectacular Royal Air Force flypast.
However, as the flypast came to an end, King Charles and Queen Camilla was seen waving to crowd gathered outside the palace. But, the eagle-eyed viewers noticed that in a small moment of confusion, the King and the Queen seemed ready to leave the balcony before the national anthem had begun.
Standing nearby with Kate Middleton, the Prince of Wales quietly speak to his father. In moments, Charles and Camilla turned back toward the crowd and resumed their positions.
It is pertinent to mention that although the moment lasted only seconds, it has sparked discussions among royal fans. They praised Prince William for his attentiveness during one of the monarch's most important ceremonial events.
Trooping the Colour celebration of 2026 included 1400 members of the Armed Forces participating in the royal tradition.
