King Charles office has released the first official photo of the monarch from Trooping the Colour 2026 as his estranged son Prince Harry is definitely ‘watching from California’.

A royal expert has claimed that as the royals mark King Charles official birthday, also known as Trooping the Colour, Prince Harry will probably give it a miss.

Jennie Bond tells the Mirror, “I very much doubt that Harry will be watching from California, even though it’s an event in which I’m sure he was always pleased to take part, proudly wearing his military uniform.”

The expert added, “I also think the King is right to keep the balcony appearance focused on the small band of working Royals. This is really a very formal occasion, and it illustrates the fact that there are now just a few royals funded by taxpayers to carry out a huge amount of public appearances.”

Prince Harry and Meghan last attended Trooping in 2022 as part of the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, but did not appear on the balcony.

Amid this, the palace has released first official photo of King Charles and Queen Camilla on social media saying, “The King and Queen leave Buckingham Palace for The King’s Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour.”

Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children are also attending the event.
