Taylor Swift is opening up about the unexpected but powerful impact Emma Stone had on the Eras Tour.
In her new Disney+ docuseries Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour | The End of an Era, the singer reflects on how her longtime friend quietly shaped one of the tour's defining elements.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, Stone made a key recommendation that ultimately helped bring Swift's artistic vision to life.
"With choreography, I asked one of my friends, Emma Stone, who's done a lot of work in dance in her films," Swift recalled.
"Who have you worked with that you would recommend for this?’ She's like, 'There’s only one person that needs to be on your list, and it's Mandy Moore.'"
Stone had worked with Moore on the 2016 Oscar-winning film La La Land, and the referral quickly led to a collaboration.
Moore admitted she was surprised to even be considered, explaining that she typically prefers film work “because her songs are mini movies.”
“I never would have thought that I would be in the same sentence as Taylor Swift, ever, in my life. You know, I’ve always been a big fan, but I, funny enough, I come from really more film and television. I don’t really do artist performance,” Moore said.
“Now I understand why I was brought in, ’cause she really wanted to do something different, and she likes the storytelling,” she concluded.
