Dave Coulier announces another cancer diagnosis after defeating non-Hodgkin lymphoma
Dave Coulier was diagnosed with stage three non-Hodgkin lymphoma in November 2024
Dave Coulier has announced his new cancer diagnosis just months after he defeated stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
The 66-year-old American actor and comedian showed up on Today, where he revealed his new cancer diagnosis and this time, it is p16 squamous carcinoma, a type of head and neck cancer.
Coulier shared that he learnt about another crushing diagnosis during his six-month check-up and PET scan.
He said, "Totally unrelated to the previous cancer that I had. So, in October of this year, I went in for a PET scan, just a routine check-up and something flared on the PET scan. It turned out that I have P16 squamous carcinoma at the base of my tongue. So, I said to the doctors, I said, ‘Well, did this happen because of the lymphoma?’ And they said, ‘Totally unrelated.’"
The Full House star was prescribed 35 rounds of radiation that will be “done on December 31.”
Co-anchor Craig Melvin went on to ask him about the prognosis, and Coulier explained, "Prognosis is very good for P16 squamous carcinoma. So, it has a 90+ curability rate.”
However, “the thing that has really saved my life, Craig, is that early detection saved my life, not just the first time but the second time as well. So, I hope you’re getting your check-ups. I hope your colonoscopies and breast exams and prostate exams, they will save your life,” he noted.
