Meghan Markle stepped back into familiar but likely awkward company over the weekend, reuniting with her daughter Princess Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry.

On Saturday, November 8, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, and Perry both attended the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala in West Hollywood, followed by Kris Jenner’s lavish 007-themed 70th birthday bash at Jeff Bezos’s Beverly Hills estate, according to Express UK.

While the close friends weren’t photographed together, Meghan was spotted alongside Prince Harry, posing with Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian. Other high-profile names in attendance were Oprah Winfrey, Adele, Mark Zuckerberg, Tommy Hilfiger, Beyonce, Justin and Hailey Bieber, and more.

“She was definitely in networking mode,” a source told Page Six. “She schmoozed with a lot of power players,” they added, describing Meghan as “cool.”

Meghan and Perry have remained close since 2020, when he opened his Los Angeles mansion to the couple after they stepped back from royal life.

“It gave us breathing room to try to figure out what we were going to do,” Meghan said during her 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, praising his generosity.

Their public reunion comes amid controversy surrounding Perry, who is currently facing a lawsuit filed by actor Derek Dixon alleging sexual harassment, assault, and retaliation. Perry has “strongly denied” the claims, with his lawyers telling People magazine, “Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”

Though Meghan has not commented, some royal experts believe the Duchess may quietly distance herself. “I think it is damaging to their brand yet again because he was meant to be their closest friend,” commentator Samara Gill told The Sun Royal Exclusive.
