Taylor swift gets surprise invitation after viral Tiktok remix
Taylor Swift's fame helps her getting invitations for surprising collabs
Could a new showgirl be heading to Las Vegas?
Taylor Swift has received an open invitation from the Backstreet Boys to join them onstage following the viral success of a mashup between her song “Elizabeth Taylor” and the band’s hit “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).”
The remix by Lydia Getachew went viral once again after AJ McLean shared it on his Instagram, sparking excitement among fans of both artists.
During an interview with TMZ, McLean revealed that after their “Into the Millennium” residency made headlines in July, the Backstreet Boys are adding seven more shows at Sphere Las Vegas for December and January 2026.
When asked who he’d like to see perform there, McLean mentioned Coldplay, Lenny Kravitz, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers—then added, “I don't know if she'd ever do it, but I think Taylor [Swift] would absolutely destroy it.”
“She's a fan, and we're a massive fan of hers,” he continued. “I mean, she's the sweetest. She's been so kind to my daughters anytime that we've had a chance to hang out and meet her at her shows. She's just the best.”
With the viral mashup still climbing past one million TikTok views, McLean said it would “break the planet” if Swift joined them onstage.
Looking directly into the camera, he added, “Taylor, if you want, come see the show first, so you know what's going on. And then you can figure out if you want to come up with us. We're not going to say no.”
In October, McLean fueled collaboration rumours by posting a video of himself dancing to the remix with the caption, “Come on now you know one of us had to! @taylorswift!”
Swift replied, “OH HI AJ OH MY GOD,” a comment that has since earned over 185,000 likes. Getachew also celebrated the moment, writing, “OMG you using my mix JUST MADE MY WEEKEND thank you for the love!”
