KARACHI: The court has again issued bailable arrest warrant against Aqeel Karim Dhedhi for his non-appearance.
Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) Ghulam Mustafa Leghari has again issued bailable arrest warrant of Rs100,000 against Aqeel Karim Dhedhi in a criminal case for hurting the reputation of Jehangir Siddiqui and his companies.
The court has postponed the hearing till November 12. According to the prosecution, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi and a private news channel (Din News) tried to hurt the reputation of Jehangir Siddiqui and companies related to him due to which a criminal complaint was lodged against Aqeel Karim Dedhi.
The defendant, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, was trying to create a false impression against Jehangir Siddiqui & Co. Ltd. (JSCL), its sponsors and companies for being involved in fraudulent activities, said the complainant.
In this way, the credibility of law-abiding institutions was seriously hurt and a negative impression was created in front of the general public. Before this, the honourable court had ordered an initial inquiry and permitted to lodge a case under Section PPC499/500.
