Says N-League is in govt thanks to PPP

HYDERABAD: Sindh Adviser on Information Maula Bakhsh Chandio on Sunday asked the Interior Minister to name the rival censured by him.

The interior minister a day earlier had said that people censured by him become his enemies. Chandio said it was because of the cooperation of the People’s Party that the N-League government is there today.

The Adviser was addressing a press conference in Hyderabad on Sunday. He said that it was Asif Zardari who had brought the N-League back to the field. He asked that if the National Action Plan is meant for the whole country why is only Sindh its target. He pointed out that a federal minister often comes to Karachi and brings matters to a boiling point with his statements.

Chandio said new conspiracies are being hatched every day against the People’s Party. He told Chaudhry Nisar that it is not the People’s Party that has shrunk but it is the wisdom of the federal ministers that has contracted. He advised the N-League to harass the People’s Party only to such an extent that it can tolerate similar treatment later. He challenged that an N-League procession could not achieve anything while a procession of the People’s Party would worry them very much.

He said the People’s Party was the symbol of the federation. Conspiracies had been hatched against the People’s Party during all governments. They pick up the conspiracy of Ayaan Ali when they cannot find any other issue, he said. The federation was endangered whenever there was a conspiracy against the People’s Party.

He reiterated that the National Action Plan is for the whole country but Sindh is made its target. He pointed out that nothing is done against terrorism where the terrorists are being trained.

Referring to Thar, he said life has been difficult there for centuries. The facilities being provided now were never available there earlier. He said it was a great achievement of the Sindh government that wheat is being provided to the masses there free of cost. He felicitated the police and Rangers in Sindh. “The People’s Party is facing a media trial. They are blaming us a lot but cannot blame the party for terrorism”.

They kept Dr Asim in custody for 90 days but could not get anything. Now they have brought in Uzair Baloch, who was being discussed for months but is being presented as if he was arrested yesterday. Sharjeel Memon is out of the country but his name has been included in the ECL. He had resigned from the ministry for personal reasons, but he is still a member of the provincial assembly and would return soon to face the false allegations levelled against him.

He said Ziaul Haq had prepared an army of ‘analysts’ who levelled allegations against Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. He said that the conspiracy failed then and so will the recent ones.

He said there are people in the N-League who want a strong federation, but there are also such ministers who frown when they listen to the names of Sindh and Balochistan. One federal minister sets affairs for fire with his statements, whenever he comes to Karachi. He told the prime minister that such ministers were not loyal to him nor were they his relatives.

He said Nawaz Sharif became cross when the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spoke against the federation but why did he not stop his brother when he did so? He said the chief minister of Sindh is a gentleman and therefore he has not taken out any procession. He tells the courts and all others at the helm of affairs to take notice of the atrocities perpetrated on Sindh. We ask Pervez Rashid to tell the ministers to speak softly. He can become angry but he should treat us like a father and not like an enemy. It is not the People’s Party that has become confined but their wisdom has been lost.
