PESHAWAR: An Anti Terrorism Court on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to the three alleged kidnappers, including an FC solider in the kidnapping case of an 8th grade student.
The ATC judge also imposed a fine of Rs1.5 million on all the three. The court awarded life term to three accused kidnappers. They included Wajid and Sharifullah, residents of Garhi Atta Muhammad, and Kashif, a resident of Bara in Khyber Agency, who is also an FC soldier.
All the three accused were charged by Haider Zaman, father of Saboor Khan, a 8th class student who was kidnapped.
The complainant had stated in the first information report that some two years ago, his son was kidnapped by the accused. He then paid Rs7 million to the accused to win release of his son.
After the release, he said he identified the accused kidnappers and lodged the case against them at the Bhanamari Police Station. After hearing arguments and examining witnesses in the case, the ATC convicted the three.
