CDA Model School holds prize distribution ceremony

The CDA Model School on Wednesday organised the annual prize distribution ceremony among students who gave outstanding performance in academic and extra-curricular activities during the last one year.

“Extra-ordinary performance of students in curricular and extra-curricular activities reflects the best professional skills of the teachers of the CDA Model School,” CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal said this while addressing the prize distribution ceremony here at CDA Model School on Thursday.

The chairman distributed prizes among students who achieved distinctions during the year in various inter-house competitions, sports and SSC-1 examinations were awarded trophies and certificates.

Huma Noor was adjudged the all round best student from the junior section. In the senior section Namra Khan took the trophy of the all round best student. Fazila Khan was declared the best athlete of the session.

In the senior section Noor Jahan House won the co-curricular trophy and Razia Sultana House remained the winner of academic trophy. In junior section, Iqbal House grabbed both the trophies. Sports trophies were won by Razia Sultana and Jinnah House.

Fadia Shamim, Shabana Kausar and Sumira Kanwal were awarded best performance award. Tehseen Farah, principal of the School presented the school insignia to the chief guest.

CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal said that students of the CDA Model School have always shown best results, which could be compared with the top ranking educational institutes of the federal capital. He added that students are the future of Pakistan and it is their responsibility to equip themselves with latest information to bring the country at par with the developed countries of the world.

CDA chairman said that CDA Model School would be shifted to new premises after building the new campus as plot for the school has already been allotted. In the aftermath of existing security situation in the country, CDA chairman directed Member Engineering to start up-gradation and necessary repair and maintenance work on existing building of CDA Model School on war footing.

He further directed Member Engineering for initiation of construction work on the new building. He also directed the concerned formations of the Authority to ensure the strict and foolproof security arrangements for the school to avoid any untoward incident.

The students of the CDA Model School displayed band show as well as a colourful tableau. Principal of the school narrated the achievements of CDA Model School and also highlighted the problems faced by the school. The event was participated by the parents and a large number of the students.
