The construction of a wall around the Islamabad Model College for Boys, Sihala, has begun after the end to the occupation of its land.

The boundary wall will ensure safety of students and staff members on the premises, said Minister of the State for Capital Administration and Development Division Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary on Sunday.

According to the minister, Islamabad civil court judge Umar Shabbir had accepted the right of the Federal Directorate of Education to the land adjacent to its premises lately.

He said the FDE had secured back the possession of the occupied land before demolishing illegal structures on it and beginning the construction of a boundary wall.

The minister said work on the college’s building was completed in 2013 but a dispute on its land delayed its opening.

He said after assuming the charge of the office of late, he inaugurated the college and directed the Capital Development Authority to get the occupied land vacated for the construction of a boundary wall whose absence had left the students and staff members vulnerable.  The minister said after the construction of a wall around the college, those present on the premises would feel secure.
