THE PPP Punjab has decided to award the membership of student wing to only those who are below 30 whereas others, exceeding the age limit, will be accommodated in the youth wing.
According to a press release issued on Saturday, the decision was taken in a meeting chaired by President PPP central Punjab Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo held in connection with the party membership strategy regarding the Peoples Student Federation and Peoples Youth Organisation.
The meeting was attended by General Secretary Punjab Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Secretary General PPP Central Punjab, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Political Adviser to Co-Chairman, Rana Farooq Saeed, former Federal Minister and Sahibzada Zulfiqar Ali, Central Coordinator (PYO).
At the meeting the notification issued by Makhdoom Amin Faheem, Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian’s President, was appreciated stipulating that all the provincial organisations and allied wings would work under the overall administrative supervision of the provincial party.
It will bring much requisite discipline in the party rank and file to make it a vibrant and robust political organisation representing the aspirations of the poor people, they maintained.
It was also decided to convey instructions to all that in the light of the notification of central leadership that no central body of the PSF would be entitled to issue a notification of any appointment without the prior meaningful consultation with the provincial party leadership.
It was also decided to hold a meeting of the representatives of liquidated PSF for consultation to evolve a mechanism for the membership of the PSF with a view to project the policy and the ideology of the party as a liberal, a progressive and a democratic party in educational institutions of the province.
