Anti-police drive in S Punjab from tomorrow

Anti-polio campaign will be launched in five district of southern Punjab from June 27 to July 4 as part of case response to positive environmental sample in Dera Ghazi Khan, Adviser to Chief Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said.
In a press statement issued here on Saturday, he said, “the campaign will be conducted in Multan, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Rahimyar Khan.
Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Ali Jan said, “The campaign is being organised due to positive environmental sample in Dera Ghazi Khan. The presence of virus in the environment means we cannot afford complacency.” Punjab Health Services Director General Dr Mukhtar Hussein said that the campaign would target 23,51,014 children below the five years of age in 281 union councils of the five districts. He said the campaign would be held in all union councils of DG Khan, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur districts whereas it will be launched in selected union councils of Multan and Rahimyar Khan.
