Chinese varsity, NVTTC agree on bilateral cooperation

The Tianjin University of Technology and Education, China, and National Vocational and Technical Training Commission on Monday agreed on bilateral support and cooperation in the vocational and educational field and announcement they would jointly take up projects like the building the centre of excellence and a teacher training programme.

The agreement came during a meeting between a four-member Tianjin university delegation and NAVTTC Executive Director Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema at the NAVTTC headquarters here.

The visitors included Zhai Fengjie, director of International Exchange Office, Xie Chao, dean of Colleges of Further Education, Zhang Yuzhou, director of Engineering Training Centre, and Simin Chen, Cultural Attaché of Chinese Embassy.

The TUTE is famous for the cultivation of teaching staff for vocational institutes in China.

Zulfiqar Cheema briefed the delegation about the recent initiatives of the NAVTTC to introduce reforms in the current TVET system of Pakistan including establishment of job placement centre.

He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project would open new vistas of prosperity and development and ensure employment opportunities for the people of Pakistan.

The NAVTTC chief called for better collaboration between the two countries to reboot the TVET system in Pakistan.
