Work on Cadet College in Cherat launched
NOWSHERA: Secretary Defence Lt Gen (r) Alam Khattak performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the Man Janbazm Cadet College in Cherat here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that government had established cadet colleges in Barotha, Tarbela and a third was being established in Cherat. He said that these colleges were providing education to 2250 children of the martyrs and added that steps were being taken to raise the capacity of these colleges to 10,000.
He added that these colleges were providing education from class-VI to grade XII besides focusing on their physical fitness. He announced 10 seats for the students of Cherat and Pabbi towns at the Cadet College in Cherat.
Speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding Maj Gen Tahir Masood Bhatti highlighted the role of the Special Services Group (SSG) in restoration of peace in the country. He announced that he would be the patron of these institutions and would serve his whole life.
He said that establishing three cadet colleges in a short span of times was made possible due to the efforts of Defence Secretary Alam Khattak. He said that a military college would be established in Cherat soon. The entry test for admission to the college would be conducted till June 25 while the classes would start July 17.
