Dacoit killed in ‘encounter’

FAISALABAD: An unidentified dacoit was killed during a police ‘encounter’ on ABC Road on Friday night.
Two dacoits snatched cash and a cell phone from a citizen in the jurisdiction of Gulberg police. Later, the police chased the dacoits and tried to arrest them. On seeing the police, the dacoits opened fire at the police party, which was retaliated. As a result, one unidentified dacoit was killed while the other dacoit fled.
PASSENGER HELD WITH HEROIN: The security staff of the Faisalabad Airport arrested a passenger allegedly with 1kg heroin.
The staff arrested passenger Muhammad Yousaf of Jhelum allegedly with 1kg heroin recovered from his luggage. The accused was trying to flee to Saudi Arabia. The accused was handed over to Thikriwala police for further investigation.
2 FERTILISER DEALERS ARRESTED: Khurianwala police on Saturday arrested two fertiliser dealers on the charge of selling fake fertilisers.
The police raided and arrested fertiliser dealers Usman Ghani and Muhammad Akram. The police also recovered fake fertiliser bags from them.
