French Open — 2016 now Live on Geo Super
KARACHI: Geo Super will be televising world’s oldest and prestigious tennis tournament Roland Garros, French Open 2016 from May 22 till June 5. Remember Last year Geo Super also had televised French Open 2015 which was much appreciated by the tennis and sports lovers. Hence, Geo Super is playing a vital role in revival of all kinds of sports in Pakistan.
The French Open, often referred to as Roland Garros is a major tennis tournament, is the premier clay court tennis championship event in the world and the second of four annual Grand Slam tournaments, the other three being the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. Roland Garros is the only Grand Slam event held on clay and ends the clay court season.
It will be the 115th edition of the French Open and the second Grand Slam event of the year. It will take place at the Stade Roland Garros from 22 May to 5 June and consist of events for professional players in singles, doubles and mixed doubles play. Junior and wheelchair players will also take part in singles and doubles events. Stan Wawrinka is the defending champion in the Men's Singles, and Serena Williams is the defending champion in the Women's Singles.
"The 2016 tournament will be handing out 32 million euros in prize money for the players, which is an increase of 14% based on 2015. "The 2016 tournament should be amazing. Serena Williams will be here to try to equal the record number of Grand Slam titles in the Open era, currently held by Stefanie Graf with 22.
