Another cop shot dead in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: The target killing of police officials continued in the provincial capital as unknown attackers shot dead another cop here Thursday.
A police official told The News that two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on Sub-Inspector Aftab Khan of the Traffic Police when he was going for duty on a motorcycle.He said the police official was targeted near the Rehman Baba graveyard in the city.
The official and locals said the target killers escaped after committing the crime.As per the police report, SI Aftab Khan first dropped his children at the school in the morning and then headed for duty on a motorcycle when the target killers attacked him.
The police later reached the spot and conducted search operation in the surrounding area, but could not arrest any suspect.It was the third target killing case in the city in two weeks. Earlier, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Qaiser Shah was target-killed in the Yakatoot locality.
Also a former employee of the Pakistan Air Force, Sabir Hussain Imdad, who was also a known writer, was shot dead along with his daughter-in-law, Dr Zainab, in Gulbahar Colony.
