Underage rickshaw driver hit to death

LAHORE

A 12-year-old boy died while two women received injuries in a road accident between a rickshaw and a truck in the Chuhng police limits on Tuesday.

Police said that the victim was driving a rickshaw. As it reached near Chuhng, a fast moving truck hit the rickshaw.

As a result, the rickshaw overturned resulting into injuries to the driver and two passenger women. The victims were shifted to hospital where the doctors pronounced one of the victims dead.

The victim was identified as Jumma Gul. Police reached the incident place on information, collected forensic evidences from crime scene and registered the statements of the eye-witnesses. Police impounded the truck and were searching for the fleeing driver. 

Drug dealer held: Team six of Police Emergency Response Unit (PERU) arrested a drug-peddler and recovered 08kg charas from his custody on Tuesday.

Police said that the team of PERU force was on patrolling. They signalled to stop a vehicle on suspicion and on search recovered illegal drugs from a suspect named Faryad Hussain. Police arrested the suspect and registered a case against him in Lorry Ada police station. 

FIRE: A passenger van caught fire due to short-circuit in the Wahdat Colony police limits on Tuesday.

Rescue officials said that a passenger van was going to Thokar Niaz Beg. As it reached near Wahdat Road, it caught fire. The passengers jumped out of the van to save their lives.

Rescue teams reached the incident place on information and controlled fire. Police also reached the incident place on information, collected forensic evidences from crime scene and registered the statements of the eye-witnesses. No loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.

Murder mystery: Ghaziabad police have solved the mystery behind the blind murder of a retired employee of a sensitive agency by arresting his son.

Police said that Barkat Ali was shot dead by unidentified suspects two weeks ago at night. Son of the victim, Awais had registered a murder complaint against unidentified suspects.

Police after registering FIR, started investigations and found that the victim was shot dead by his own son. He had shot his father dead because he was frustrated due to his admonishing. 

ACCIDENTS: At least 636 road traffic accidents were reported in Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which four lives were lost and 509 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts.

However, some 254 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by emergency medical teams.

passport covers: FIA Tuesday arrested a man and recovered 204 fake Afghan passport covers from him in Township area.  The suspect identified as Shafqat Hussain. The raid was conducted on the information given by NECTA. 

Shafqat, son of Jamal Din, along with his co-accused Ali Raza Shakeel Pathan were residing in Township area and involved in illegalities. Ali Raza Shakeel Pathan was previously arrested by Garden Town police and Afghan currency and printing equipment were recovered from him by CIA police. A case has been registered against the culprits. 

PO arrested: Sadr CIA police claimed to have arrested a robber on Tuesday. 

The arrested suspect identified as Rashid was included in top-ten proclaimed offenders.

He was involved in at least 50 robberies. The police raided a hide-out in Okara and arrested the suspect. Police had already arrested four of his accomplices.
