Yadav helps arrest 13 more RAW agents
Indian spy network has sleeper cells countrywide; Parrikar says Yadav to get all required support
ISLAMABAD: Sensitive agencies have arrested 13 more spies on the basis of information gleaned from the arrested RAW agent Kulbhushan Yadav during initial investigations.
According to sources, the intelligence agencies arrested these spies during operations conducted in Sindh, Punjab, Karachi, Quetta and Fata. The arrested agents were shifted to unknown places for interrogation. Sources said the felicitators, financers and sympathisers of these spies would also be arrested.
The information received from Yadav has been sent to the federal government for necessary action. The federal government has started an emergency operation in order to break the network of the detained RAW agent.
According to sources, it was revealed during investigations that the network of these agents was very strong and extended to London, Geneva and the areas of Taftan and Chabahar in Iran.
The sources further said this network had sleeper cells across Pakistan and the government will use all its resources to trace them. News Desk adds: Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar Monday said the External Affairs Ministry (EAAM) had been asked to extend all possible help to former Navy official and RAW agent Kulbhushan Yadav, NDTV reported.
“We do agree, to the extent I know, that he is an Indian citizen and we have asked for consular access,” Parrikar told reporters at Quepem, adding that he was concerned about Mr. Yadav since he was a veteran.
Giving details, the minister said he had “indicated” to the MEA that Mr. Yadav was an ex-officer and should be given all assistance and support required. Praising the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Parrikar said the MEA was doing its best.
He said Ms Swaraj was very active and one could even reach her at night on Twitter and get a reply with action taken usually by the (next) morning. “Sushmaji has been working vigorously to help Indians abroad who are in problem. In this case, since the other country has made allegations, it may take a longer time,” he said.
Parrikar refused to comment further on Mr. Yadav saying, “Other than paying him one rank one pension I cannot talk about anything on an ex-officer”. Indian government sources say Mr. Yadav is a small businessman.
