LAHORE: The Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, said on Sunday that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif disrespected the sanctity of vote during his entire political life.Speaking to party workers during the membership drive, the PPP leader took a jibe at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo by saying: "If Nawaz is competing with aliens rather than politicians, he should head to space with a rocket."

Nawaz Sharif in a public gathering reportedly said that he was not contesting against the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) or Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) but ‘aliens’. Bilawal said that the PML-N leader changes his narrative after every 15 days.

"The PPP speaks on the real issues of the masses. Nawaz is more interested in doing business than politics," he said, adding that Nawaz and Imran are only focused on getting power and are not concerned about the basic demands of the people.

The PPP leader said that his party has a tradition of battling against the injustice and tyrants. "We have learned from the battle of Karbala to always remain on the side of oppressed and we will pursue this till our last breath," he said.

In an earlier statement, Bilawal expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of 23 labourers in the collapse of coal mines near Quetta. Bilawal condoled with the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the coal mines’ collapse and asked the government to pay compensation to them immediately. He stressed for measures to protect the coal mine workers from such accidents in future.
