PML-N has big candidates but will split: Imran
By News desk
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was facing divine retribution and predicted that although the PML-N had big candidates, the party would split into factions.
Talking to media after reaching Lahore, Imran said he would also announce a future strategy for party’s struggle against the corrupt mafia and free the state institutions from the forces of status quo. Replying to a question, he said Nawaz was like Marcos of the Philippines, not like Nelson Mandela. Imran said he would announce a 10-point agenda for making Pakistan corruption-free and carving out a new future for the country in Sunday’s public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan.
To a question, he said the foreign policy came under civilian purview but consultations had to be made with other institutions regarding the matters of security and realising the national interests.
Imran praised the current judiciary for making headway in providing justice to the masses and termed Shahbaz Sharif as the head of a corrupt mafia.
Answering a question, he said merger of Fata and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a need of the hour, but Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and Mehmood Achakzai were creating hindrance in that.
He said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not in the frame of mind where he could hold talks with Pakistan and added that he had asked Modi in the past not to close the door for talks whatever the circumstances might be.
Imran said in the past, the PTI had been facing parties like PML-N, PPP, PML-Q and others, but the contest in the upcoming elections would be the PML-N.
