GILGIT: Life and business activities remained paralysed as curfew in Gilgit entered tenth consecutive day on Thursday, while Skardu is coming back to normalcy, Geo News reported.

The city of Gilgit is still under curfew and mobile phone service is not resumed in the area.

The troops are patrolling the area and conducting search operations. The law enforcement agency personnel are deployed across the city to control any untoward situation.

The state of affairs in neighbouring Skardu is getting better after nine-days of tension. Schools, businesses are open and traffic has resumed.

There is severe shortage of food and other basic necessity items in Gilgit city. For last five days water is not available in areas like Khomer, Majini Mohallah and Nagaral. Doctors and medicines are not available in hospitals. The government is silent and people are suffering hard. I request media to highlight this issue in order to get the attention of our corrupt leaders. Majority of killings were occurred in Chilas, but the curfew is only imposed in Gilgit.
