Man arrested in Cairo not Seif al-Adel

CAIRO: Egyptian security officials said the man they arrested at Cairo airport on Tuesday believing him to be a senior Al-Qaeda leader is an Egyptian extremist wanted in his homeland not an Al-Qaeda operative.

"He is wanted for involvement with the Al-Jihad (group). He is not Seif

al-Adel," said a source at the National Security apparatus. Officials and state media earlier said the man was the senior Qaeda militant Seif al-Adel.

According to earlier reports by a foreign news agency, senior al Qaeda operative Seif al-Adel, who was reported to have briefly taken over the militant network's leadership after Osama Bin Laden's death, was arrested in Cairo airport. (AFP)

THIS GENTLEMAN SHALL PROVE ALL THE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HIM TO BE LIES.LET HIM SPEAK TRUTH THAT USA WAS FINANCING HIM MAY BE INDIA TOO BUT THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT THIS MAN DESERVES TO BE CALLED A TRUE LEADER OF ARABS.HOWEVER, IN KASHMIR TRUE LEADERS ARE RARE LIKE ME ,MOLVI UMER FAROOQ,SYED ALI SHAH GEELANI BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF INDIAN AGENTS WORKING WITH THE LATER TWO LEADERS WHO BELIEVE IN PEACEFUL METHODS.

The fact Saif-el-Adel flew on an Emirates flight from Pakistan will raise a few eyebrows in US of Pakistan willfully harboring Al-Qaeda militants. It will bring into focus the past when Osama was killed by a US covert operation on 2nd of May last year. Will Pakistan plead complacency or someone will accept responsibility for security failure as Adel flew right in front of the noses of airport security force. One can only blame bad governance to be the reason of a breach in intelligence failure.
