Sultans overpower Zalmi with seven wickets

DUBAI: The PSL debutants, Multan Sultans, defeated the reigning champions Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets in the opening fixture of the third edition of PSL on Thursday.
Chasing a target of 152, the Sultans reached the target with five balls to spare. Kumar Sangakkara was the top scorer with a 51-ball 57, while the captain, Shoaib Malik, remained unbeaten at 42.
Earlier, the Zalmi managed 151 runs with a loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs after the Sultans opted to field first after winning the toss. Hafeez scored 59, followed by a quick-fire 29 by Darren Sammy.
