Criticism of welfare projects sole job of ‘dharna party’: CM
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said there is no bigger obligation than serving the public and the PML-N would continue making development records whenever in power. In a statement, the chief minister said the PML-N was utilising all the resources and capacities for the people, but the sole job of the ‘dharna party’ was to criticise the government’s welfare-oriented projects. He said those criticising the public welfare projects of the PML-N government should tell the people about their performance. “The politics of allegations has no connection with the public service and the opposition to the Orange Line Metro Train has exposed and proved enmity of the dharna party towards the people,” he added.
Separately, the chief minister has taken notice on a news report and ordered the authorities to take measures for the treatment of three-year-old daughter of a widow. He said if needed the minor girl would be sent abroad for treatment.
Shahbaz also took notice of the murder of a teenager boy after sexual abuse in the Azamabad area of Burewala and sought a report from the DPO. He said strict action would be taken against the person who committed this gruesome crime, promising justice to the family of the 13-year-old boy at every cost.
He also sought a report from the DPO Narowal on another incident in which a local influential tortured a woman.
About the killing of an eight-year-old boy after sexual abuse in the Wahndo area near Kamoke, he ordered the RPO Gujranwala to submit a report. According to the Gujranwala police, the murderer had been arrested and he is being questioned.
