CDA launches operation against illegal billboards

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has removed illegally installed billboards, mopies, directional and other advertisement boards from the city.
The specially constituted task force of the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) is conducting operations across the city, a spokesman for the CDA said. The major activity was seen on Kashmir Highway along Sector G-12 from where around 15 billboards and signboards were removed by the DMA staff.
During the operation, the DMA task force removed 8 billboards and 20 directional boards installed illegally along Islamabad Expressway. During another operation, the DMA removed a number of billboards of different sizes installed illegally along Kashmir Highway. Moreover, unauthorised streamers-political banners installed illegally in Markaz F-6, F-7, F-8, F-10, F-11, I-8, I-9, Blue Area and along Park Road and I J Principal Road were also removed. All confiscated material has been deposited at the CDA store.
The DMA Task Force also took action against unhygienic milk sellers in the city. In this context, nine milk canes were confiscated from illegal milk vendors. The CDA management has directed to ensure proper monitoring and continue the operation against unauthorised billboards and signboards in the light of the Advertisement Rules 1977.
