Punjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran Monday formed a fact-finding committee to inquire into the allegations leveled against member Syndicate Shumaila Gul regarding her MBIT degree which was illegally declared equivalent to an MPhil degree.
The four-member committee is headed by Prof Dr Saleem Haid, Director Institute of Agricultural Sciences and consists of Prof Dr Rafaqat Ali Akbar, Prof Dr Farah Malik and Dr Muhammad Shafique.
According to details in his letter to Vice Chancellor dated March 27, 2015, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering Muhammad Azhar Naeem alleged the degree of Master’s in Business and Information Technology (MBIT) obtained by Ms Gul has fraudulently been held equivalent to MS/M Phil degree of the PU.
