The controversial issue of the resignations of four MPAs belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf again resurfaced in the House.
MQM MPA Muhammad Hussain Khan said the four PTI lawmakers had lost their membership as they were absent for 40 consecutive days without a leave application.
Speaker Agha Sira Khan Durrani said in his ruling, he had clearly stated that the PTI lawmakers were still bona fide members of the House so it was uncalled for to repeatedly raise the issue.
Finance minister Murad Ali Shah said the Constitution did not state that any lawmaker absent from the house for 40 consecutive days would automatically lose their membership.
