SUKKUR: Chief Secretary Sindh, taking notice of a mis-procurement case, has asked Secretary Irrigation Sindh to furnish a report within three day period, a statement said on Saturday.
Earlier, a mis-procurement case had been detected and challenged by a petitioner in Sindh High Court Bench at Sukkur.
Petitioner Rafique Ahmed Memon through his Counsel Advocate Perwaiz Ahmed Ghumro and Syed Karam Sheeraz Shah Rashidi in his constitutional petition D-1227/2015 maintained that CC Lining of Rahooja minor, which has a cost of 130 million, is currently under construction and its 90 percent work has been completed. He stated the contract was awarded without inviting tender for the project and authorities by passed Sindh procurement regulatory authority and awarded the project to a preferred choice of an official in Sindh government named Dr Ghulam Mustafa Suhag.
The petition maintained that this is a cognizable offense under NAB 99 act under section 33c, 34c.
Sindh High Court Circuit Bench Sukkur entertaining the petition summoned Chief Secretary Sindh, Secretary Irrigation Sindh, Managing Director Sindh procurement Regulator Authority, DG NAB Sukkur and others on May 19, 2015.
Secretary Irrigation Sindh further ordered Chief Engineer Irrigation to furnish the details about the CC lining of the Rahooja minor.
