FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad Academic Council has approved a new undergraduate admission policy, said UAF Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan.
Addressing the 277th Academic Council meeting here on Monday, he said that the students would be admitted provisionally to BS, BSc and BBA programmes on the basis of matriculation, first year and entrance test results before the announcement of the intermediate final results. He said that their final results of FSc/FA would be considered later. The entrance test was likely to be held by the end of the next month, he added. He said that the admission system was already applicable in many educational institutions, including NUST.
Talking about the teachers-students ratio, he said that it had stretched to 1-30 while it was 1-20 a year ago. He said that the UAF would recruit 200 teachers this year keeping the increasing enrolment in view. He said that the USAID-funded Centre for Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security had been set up at the UAF to address the issue of food security in the country. He said that the Punjab government had approved establishment of the Punjab Bioenergy Institute at the university to address the energy crisis through alternative sources.
