PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Thursday arrested two terror suspects belonging to Afghanistan in the city and recovered explosives and other materials used in the bomb blasts.
Official sources told The News that a team of the Counter-Terrorism Department raided an area situated on the Dauranpur Road in limits of the Paharipura Police Station. After hours-long operation, the sources said, the officials arrested the two terrorists. They were later identified as Wazir, son of Jan and Sher Khan, son of Hazrat Said, Afghan nationals.
The officials claimed that 10.984 kg explosives and four detonators were recovered from their possession. After preliminary investigation, the officials said the Afghan nationals disclosed that they were plotting a terrorist activity in Mardan district today (Friday). The officials said that the arrested terrorists were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
