KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has served a notice to the channel of Axact for providing records of details, official sources said on Monday.
The sources said that the customs intelligence directed the media group to provide details of imported equipments including gadgets, servers, cameras and uplinking devices.The media group was asked to provide documents of such imports including goods declaration, packing list, bill of lading, letter of credit, permission for imports and airways bills.
The company has been asked to provide the required documents in three days. Further the group has been restrained from removing any installed equipment at the office. The sources said that the investigations have been initiated under Section 26 of Customs Act, 1969 to confirm the duty and taxes had been duly paid on the imported consignments made by the company. Asif Marghoob Siddiqui, Director, Customs Intelligence and Investigation, confirmed the issuance of the notice to the Axact’s channel.
