Three martyred soldiers laid to rest with full mily honour
LAHORE/LAYYAH: Lieutenant Agha Muqaddas, martyred in North Waziristan Wednesday, was laid to rest with full military honours in Pir Ronki graveyard here Thursday. He was martyred in a fight against terrorists in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan. Earlier, the Namaz-e-Janaza of the martyred was offered at Gol Bagh, Shadbagh, which was attended by a large number of people, army officers, friends, MPAs Ghazali Saleem Butt and Ch Shahbaz. A unit of Pakistan Army paid tribute to the martyred officer by presenting guard of honour. Brig Asif Hayat, Brig Muhammad Ahmad, Brig Ali Ijaz and Lt Hamza laid wreaths on behalf of the president, prime minister, army chief and course mates on the grave. Two soldiers, who had also embraced martyrdom during the operation against terrorists in North Waziristan, were laid to rest with full military honour. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented salute to the martyrs Lance Havaldar Qamar Nadeem and Sepoy Muhammad Qasim. Their funeral prayers were offered at their hometowns Dhoori Adda and Kot Sultan, in Layyah. Provincial parliamentary secretary on agriculture Ch Tahir Randhawa, senior military officials besides DPO Hassan Iqbal, ADCR Fayyaz Ahmad Nadeem, AC Niaz Ahmad Mughal, PTI district president Iftikhar Ali Babar Khetran and notables of the city attended funeral prayers. It may be noted that a lieutenant and three soldiers had embraced martyrdom in an operation on a terrorist hideout near Datta Khel, North Waziristan, where seven terrorists were killed. The martyred included 26-year-old Lt Agha Muqaddas Ali Khan, resident of Lahore, Lance Havaldar Qamar Nadeem, 36, resident of Layyah, who is survived by a widow, two sons and a daughter, Sepoy Muhammad Qasim, 24, resident of Layyah, and Sepoy Tauseef, 23, resident of Narowal.
