The time has come for the US and its European allies to revisit their policies vis-à-vis global hegemony. History stands testimony to the fact that the US has been responsible for dragging its allies into wars waged against nations on totally unconvincing grounds. The hegemonic designs of the west are one of the several reasons that have given birth to terrorism. One glaring example is the Iraq war. Tony Blair’s unqualified apology is sufficient enough to indicate that the invasion of Iraq was not justified.
In view of this should one expect that good sense will eventually dawn upon the mighty nations of the world? Terrorism in all its forms should be condemned in the strongest terms by the civilised world. But at the same time the cause(s) of terrorism should also be found and sincerely addressed. We join ranks with the civilised world in condemning, in strongest terms, the brutalities committed by the perpetrators of the Paris terror attack on innocent people. While doing so, we urge the world community to come forward and strengthen our hands in our long-drawn war against terrorism.
