Road effects

This refers to the letter, ‘Jail Road problems’ ( October 12). I appreciate the writer for raising this issue. Being a student of the same university, I can surely relate to it. At peak hours, the road gets blocked by traffic. Students are facing the most trouble. Kinnaird College for Women has changed its entrance gates and now students have to cover extra distance that runs along traffic and the under-construction road in order to get to the university. Van and bus drivers not only refuse to drive through the road but mostly pick and drop students near a bridge on the main road which is quite a bit lengthy way to climb over and walk up the university.
The road could have been constructed during the summer vacations, as pointed out by the writer. The authorities concerned need to speed up work and get it completed as early as possible.
